SUPPORT STAFF



Not all careers in Information Technology require an applicant to be C++ literate. As with any field, it is equally important to have excellent behind-the-scenes planning and organization, whether from administrative assistants, accountants or human resources specialists. Although it would help to have a background in information technology for these positions, it is not necessary. These careers most often entail office work and require attention to detail.

Career: Accountant
Description

  • Administrates standard accounting functions
    including payroll, receivables, general ledger analysis
    and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for month-end close duties, including
    corporate reporting.
  • Job-related skills, interests and

  • Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Determining how money will be spent to get the work
    done, and accounting for these expenditures.
  • The ability to choose the right mathematical methods
    or formulas to solve a problem.
  • Must have excellent grasp of Microsoft Office,
    espeically Excel.
  • Close attention to detail required.














  • Career: Administrative
    Assistant
    Description

  • Ensures efficient coordination adn communication of
    the immediate staff.
  • Gathers data, analyzes and prepares reports with
    conclusive recommendations.
  • Assists in budget preparation and/or personal
    matters.
  • Organizes and coordinates company programs and
    travel requests.
  • Often provides secretarial support.

    Operator
    Description

  • Performs diversified duties involving the operation
    of a computer console, auxiliary and peripheral
    equipment for a medium to large system.
  • Inputs commands, starts-up and monitors system
    operations.
  • Identifies, responds to and corrects error messages.

  • Works under standard procedures to process data,
    solve mathematical problems, compile records, manipulate
    data, or other diversified computing assignments.

    electronic equipment, and computer hardware and
    software, including applications and programming.

    Generalist
    Description

  • Coordinates and assists management in all staffing
    and recruiting activities
  • Counsels management on Federal and State Employment
    law.
  • Creates and updates all job descriptions, wage
    ranges and job levels
  • Assists in development and implementation of HR
    policies and procedures and their dissemination through
    employee booklets, communication and/or meetings.
  • Supports benefits administration.

    financial modeling.
